The 2019 Southern Montgomery County, Maryland, Preschool Fair, which WAM hosted in partnership with Montgomery County Recreation, was held at the new Wheaton Library and Recreation Center on Friday, Nov. 8, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Parents and guardians

Selecting a preschool for your child can be a daunting task, especially as we want our children’s first experience with education to be positive and foster a joy for learning. The myriad options available can be overwhelming as you are learning new terminology, deciphering schedules, and comparing curriculum and education philosophies. By attending an in-person preschool fair, you have a one-stop shop to meet a wide range of school representatives, learn about tuition, schedule tours, and more.

Our 2019 fair featured 50 local schools. Many offer flexible schedules for children as young as 2 years. We also have schools that offer classes for toddlers and even infants. Whether you are looking for your toddler or 4-year-old, our fair will have something for you and your family.

Throughout the day, our 2019 event featured free classes and demonstrations from our extracurricular organizations and Montgomery County Recreation, including cooking classes, dance classes, soccer lessons, an obstacle course, and children’s story time.

The preschool fair is a free event and open to the community, and kids are always welcome.
